The Ceiling in the Parliament Chamber

Much has been written and spoken about the extravagant, exquisite and beautiful coffered Italian-styled ceiling of the Parliament Chamber. The work on the ceiling was done in 1875 in Plaster of Paris and painted in pastel colours of pink, green, blue, and off white, by Italian designer Ceasar Castellani. It is considered and recognised by far, to be the most artistic and ornate of the legislative Chambers in English-Speaking Caribbean.
